The drug investigation on Kannada film industry got murkier after capturing three drug peddlers in Bengaluru by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Three singers, actors and atleast 15 renowned personalities from the Sandalwood industry are accused in the drug ring.
Today Kannada actor Ragini Dwivedi was detained in the drug case, on Friday, by a team of Central Crime Branch sleuths. She was grilled for further details by the CCB, who conducted search and seizure operations at two of her apartments in Yelahanka since early hours on Friday.
Reportedly, the investigation officers got furious over her social media announcement that she wouldn’t be appearing in Bengaluru court, which led to her raid. Ragini is believed to have changed her contact number after receiving notice from the police and also hired a team of lawyers seeking time till September 7.
She is being quizzed to bust the links involved in drug racket after her alleged associate Ravi Shankar, an official at the State Regional Transport Office in Jayanagar, was taken into custody on Thursday after being grilled for six hours.
Allegation is that MDMA(ecstasy) was rampantly used in high profile rave parties at her Yelhanka residence.
