The Hyderabad Metro will continue operations phase-wise in a graded manner from September 7. The final decision to recommence the metro services in a graded manner was decided in an audit meeting held by HMRL MD NVS Reddy with L&TMRHL MD KVB Reddy along with senior authorities of HMRL and L&TMRHL on Thursday. All necessary security measures were taken for setting up new standard operating procedures.
Revenue services will be provided from 7 am to 12 noon and 4 pm to 9 pm. Five stations that include Gandhi hospital, Bharat Nagar, Moosapet, Mushaeerabd and yousufguda which come under containment zones will remain closed.
Here’s what you need to know before commuting via Hyderabad Metro Rail.
- Wearing a face mask is compulsory for all passengers and staff. Metro Rail will also provide services in supplying them to persons arriving without masks.
- As per the new rules, pedal type sanitizer would be kept at entry into the stations for passengers.
- PPE kits and sanitisers for employees, security personnel/private guards as a safety measure while examining commuters without affecting security drills
- Only asymptomatic individuals will be allowed to commute after thermal screening at the station’s entry points. Symptomatic persons would be highly recommended to go to nearby COVID Care unit or hospital.
- Smart Card and Mobile QR ticket with cashless/online transactions will be given priority.
- Passengers ought to use minimum luggage and avoid metallic objects
