The Center has received almost 40,000 grievances involving the corruption of Covid-19, authorities acquainted with the issue stated.
In April this year, the public authority had set up a separate site to quickly segregate and deliver any complaints identified with Covid pandemic and has accumulated more than 167,000 objections up until now, of which more than 150,000 have been reviewed.
The complaints have been ordered on the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances site. The grievances of corruption, which were identified consist of bribery, pilferage of funds, not providing the hospital beds and torment by government officials while tackling with Covid-19 cases.
“The issue came up at the November 25 meeting of PRGATI,” an official revealed. PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) includes various ministries and is the government’s administrative reform initiative that was commenced in 2015.
It is learnt that the recent meet related to Covid-19, PM Narendra Modi perused the matter thoroughly by emphasising to provide information of complaints regarding the three ‘Ps’ – persons, process and policy. The data enquired, will be presented to PM in the follow up meet on Monday.
