After 10 months of constant look out, sleuths of Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) captured Abu Faisal on charges of sharing communal hate videos on the social media, soon after he landed at the city airport from Dubai on Friday.
In May 2020 during lockdown, cybercrime police registered a suo motu case under IPC section 153(A) (promoting disharmony, enmity or feelings of hatred between different groups) and other sections of IT Act against Dubai-based Abu Faisal, who is a resident of Barkas in the Old City.
In May, the Bombay High Court too issued an ex-parte interim order ordaining the state government to remove a video clip posted by him that seem to be provocative and maleficent. However, Faisal posted another similar video in June 2020 while being in Dubai. No sooner a look out circular (Loc) was issued by police and all airports were alerted.
He was detained by the officials of the Bureau of Immigration at RGI Airport as soon as he landed in Hyderabad airport from Dubai on Friday.
A division bench chaired by Justice RD Dhanuka and Justice Abhay Ahuja are looking into the matter with high priority and issued the order in the petition lodged by Imran against Faizal for ‘incriminating hatred speech’.
From the petitioner we can know that Abu Faisal remarked that the media was commissioned to target Muslims and defame Islam under the guise of COVID pandemic, which could trigger hate between Hindus and Muslims.
