CBI court permits CM Jagan to attend Davos Summit

It is a known fact that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is out on a bail in disproportionate assets cases, cannot leave the country without court permission, despite being the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The latest news is that the CBI court has granted permission to CM Jagan to attend the 52nd World Economic Forum to be held in Davos, Switzerland from the 22nd to the 26th of this month.

The CM filed a petition in the CBI court seeking permission to travel to Davos between 19 and 31 this month. In his petition, the CM appealed for relaxation of the bail condition that he should not leave the country. Jagan said he is going on an official visit in his capacity.

The CBI asked the court not to grant permission to Jagan as it would delay the trial of the case. After considering the arguments of both parties, the court allowed Jagan to visit. Lawyer G Ashok Reddy argued the petition on the behalf of Jagan.
