DMK president MK Stalin and 8000 others have been booked under a case for holding a rally against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) without police permission.
Along with Stalin, a few other senior leaders of various opposition parties like Congress, communist parties, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) took part in the rally. Senior leaders like P Chidambaram, Dhayanithi Maran, K Kanimozhi, Vaiko and several other MPs and MLAs were spotted at the rally.
Meanwhile the protests are going on against CAA in Delhi and few other parts of the country for the past few days. BJP leader Amit Shah has responded to the issue saying that there is no link between National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR). The Centre is repeatedly trying to state that the act has nothing to do with going against Muslims.

“CAA will have no impact on Goans. Muslims especially need not worry at all. Those who have no knowledge of CAA are instigating people. I am asking political opponents to not create fear among people about CAA,” Goa CM Pramod Sawant clarified.
