The Badvel bypolls are known to be a safe bet for the YSRCP, but this isn’t stopping betting enthusiasts from betting huge amounts on the bypolls. It is known that the YSRCP has announced Dr. Dasari Sudha as its candidate, who happens to be the wife of MLA Venkata Subbaiah, whose passing led to the bypolls.
The TDP and the Jana Sena announced that they wouldn’t be taking part in the bypolls as the widow of the previous MLA has been announced as the candidate. This has left the BJP as the only opponent for the YSRCP in the bypolls. The BJP has announced Panatala Suresh as its candidate, and the bettings are now on, on the number of votes each party would get.
While it is a given that the YSRCP would win, the bettings are being put on the number of votes each party would get, and the majority with which the YSRCP would win. The BJP leaders and cadres are betting that the BJP would get up to 18500 votes, while some others are said to be betting on an 80000 majority for the YSRCP candidate Dr Dasari Sudha. It is being said that during the Tirupati bypolls, a BJP leader reportedly hedged huge amounts claiming that the YSRCP would not get a 4 lakh vote majority, and with the YSRCP majority falling way too short of the 4 lakh mark, this former minister reportedly ended up winning Rs 5 crore. It is now to be seen how profitable these bettings this time around would be.
