Ever since it was announced, the buzz surrounding the biopic on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister late Jayalalithaa, Thalaivi, has been making headlines. However, now, the buzz just got bigger as the film has now a new addition to its ensemble cast.
As per our reliable sources, the makers of Thalaivi have roped in Jisshu Sengupta to enact yesteryear Shoban Babu in the A.L.Vijay directorial. It is reportedly heard that Shoban Babu and Jayalalithaa were in a relationship back then.
A source close to the unit revealed that “It wasn’t an easy task for Vishnu to get someone on board to play Shoban Babu’s role. But taking into account Jisshu Sengupta’s earlier performances, the filmmakers felt that they could capitalize on his looks to bring alive the yesteryear actor.”
Interestingly, when the filmmakers approached Jisshu for the part, he instantly agreed to play the part and has even started preparing for the role. It is also heard that Jisshu will undergo grooming sessions to get his looks right. Meanwhile, Jisshu recently made his Telugu debut in the Naga Shaury’s recent offering Aswathama.
