The funding-raising campaign for the Ayodhya’s Ram Temple construction, which was started on January 15, came to an end on Saturday with donations received over Rs 2,100 crore by Saturday evening.
The massive 44-day fundraising campaign organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad had generated money considerably larger than those expected. The Trust had pitched an estimate of ₹1,100 crores for the Ram temple complex development, but it got more than ₹1,000 crores overestimation.
Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust treasurer, Govind Dev Giri, told reporters, “The fund-raising campaign has ended with generous contributions from all cross-sections of the people, including residents of far-flung villages of India, blurring religious barriers. Total donations received has crossed ₹2,100 crore by Saturday evening.”
As per reports, Ayodhya seers suggested the temple trust to use the excess money for the development of Ayodhya and cautioned against the corruption of the money given by crores of Ram Bhakts.
