Some relief to the ruling Telugu Desam Party and its leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh ahead of April 11 general elections, as the state High Court has denied permission to release the film “Lakshmi’s NTR’, which could have created some embarrassment.
The Court’s stay comes in response to petitions filed by a group of TDP supporters pleading the Court to stall the film’s release, which was meant with ulterior motives to gain some political advantage in the ensuing elections.
The TDP works also lodged complaints with the Election Commission in this regard.
The movie is being produced by the YSRCP leader Rakesh Reddy was set to be released on March 22.
Hearing the petition, Justice Sesha Sai and Justice Durga Prasad, order to stay on the release of the film till April 3.
