The YSRCP’s war against the AP Police Chief R P Thakur has taken an interesting turn with its general secretary Vijay Sai Reddy, petitioning before the full-bench of the Election Commission on Thursday of police chief bribing the preacher turned politician K A Paul with Rs 35 crore.
In their petition, YSRCP alleged that the DGP had sent the bribe money in his car to handover over to Paul. This was to help confuse the electorate by fielding identical name candidates of YSRCP in the ensuing elections to the assembly as well Lok Sabha.
The YSRCP delegation led by Vijay Sai Reddy not only demanded shifting out the DGP immediate effect, but also make course correction as far as the party symbol allocated to the Paul’s party, which is also threaten to confuse the voters.
Later speaking to newsmen, the YSRCP MP alleged that TDP Chief Naidu had fielded a ‘stooge’ in the form of Paul, whose party’s ‘helicopter’ symbol was identical to that of the ‘fan’ of the YSRCP symbol. E also pointed out Paul fielding identical names of those YSRCP candidates, in a bid to mislead, especially the gullible voters.
He also found fault with the care-taker Chief Minister’s argument that Intelligence department doesn’t form part of the Police department, as most absurd and unacceptable by any courts of law.
Vijay Sai Reddy charged Naidu with ‘creating Constitutional’ crisis by questioning the wisdom of the Election Commission, but expressed his confidence that justice will prevail, when the Court gives its verdict. Even, the issuance of controversial GO revoking his suspension much against the EC directive will also not stand’s court’s scrutiny, he pointed out.
The YSRCP delegation had also sought action against retired police officials, including Damodar Naidu, Gattamaneni Srinivas and Yoganand.
