The High Court has given a sensational verdict on the ZPTC and MPTC elections in AP. The High Court dismissed all the supplementary petitions filed regarding the Parishad elections. The High Court clarified that it could not interfere in the conduct of the elections.
The state high court has made it clear that it cannot order immediate hold of elections. The High Court ruled that it was up to the SEC to decide when the elections should be held. The state election commissioner was directed to file a counterclaim on the major petitions. The court adjourned the hearing on the petition to March 30.
Three petitions were filed in the AP High Court on the 18th of this month directing the SEC to hold the MPTC and ZPTC elections immediately.
