AP gets new Chief Secretary

In a major change in Andhra Pradesh’s top-level administration, the state government, headed by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has appointed senior IAS officer Dr KS Jawahar Reddy as the next state chief secretary.

With the incumbent chief secretary Dr Sameer Sharma retiring on November 30 this year, Jagan has picked Jawahar Reddy as his trusted man.

At present, Jawahar Reddy, a 1990-batch IAS officer, is performing his duties as the Special Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office. He had also served as TTD Executive Officer.

It is reported that Mr Reddy is likely to take charge of the top post in two or three days. He is set to retire in June 2024. Notably, after the next general elections.
