The Andhra Pradesh government headed by the AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to revamp its ambulance and first responders’ services by inducting 1,088 vehicles of three types. Already the YSR Arogya Shri, which was primarily introduced by YSR, is a revolution in the health sector which provides its services to 95% of the state people.
Now, Jagan, ushering in reforms in the state’s healthcare system, flagged off 1,088 vehicles in Vjayawada’s Benz Circle to meet the emergency medical requirements all over the state which are very crucial in this COVID-19 pandemic. Under this revamped health care, in a most appreciable way, they YSRCP government has also decided to provide free treatment to the road accident victims up to a cost of Rs.50,00 for the first 48 hours in any hospital.
Coming to the vehicles, out of these 1,088 vehicles, there are 412 new ambulances including 105 vehicles that are equipped with Advanced Life Support, 282 vehicles with Basic Life Support equipment, and 26 neo-natal ambulances. 676 old vehicles have been refurbished, refitted, and converted into Mobile Medical Units. These new ambulances have advanced life-saving equipment which are purchased at a cost of Rs.201 crore to help in saving more lives.
