As the number of corona cases is increasing in India, the number of people dying from corona virus is increasing day by day. In Bangalore, around 50 people are dying in a day due to Covid-19. Large-scale funerals are being held at 5 cemeteries in the city. At least 20 bodies are buried every day in these cemeteries. Each ambulance is waiting for around four and half hours at the cemetery for cremating.
The dead bodies are being cremated at Sumanahalli, Kengeri, Bommanahalli, and Penathur cemeteries at Jalahalli, Bangalore. Funerals are being conducted in these areas with all necessary precautions abiding by the rules of Covid-19 in the wake of the rising corona cases. At the same time, there are allegations that the funeral staff is not getting the much-needed PPE kits.
In April this year, 280 Bangalore residents died of Covid-19. 66 members died in January, 88 members in February, 147 members in March, and 280 members in April.
