Just ahead of the release of Laal Singh Chaddha, some comments made by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan in 2015 have surfaced on the internet in which he said that his ex-wife Kiran Rao had suggested they leave India because of growing intolerance.
As the comments went viral, the upcoming movie of the actor landed in controversy and netizens have started trending #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha on social media.
Aamir Khan, who recently reacted to the boycott trend, said, “Yes, I feel sad. Also, I feel sad that some people who are saying this, in their hearts, believe that I am someone who doesn’t like India. In their hearts, they believe, but it is untrue.”
The actor also urged fans not to boycott Laal Singh Chaddha and watch it on the big screens. The movie marks the Bollywood debut of Naga Chaitanya. It will hit the screens on August 11.
