A TDP supporter won as a Sarpanch from jail itself

TDP supporter Shiva Prasad Naidu has won as a Sarpanch of Nawabpet, Kalakada Mandal of Chittoor District. Due to this, a fight broke out between supporters of the ruling party YCP and the opposition Telugu Desam Party.

The night before the polling, Shiv Prasad, a TDP supporter, was arrested on a charge of illegal liquor. He was later transferred to Peeler Sub Jail. However, Shiva Prasad, who came directly from the sub-jail, exercised his right to vote. With these incidents, the situations in the Nawabpet became tense. The fight between the ruling party, YCP, and the opposition party TDP has created an intense atmosphere. Finally, the election staff announced that the TDP supporter Shiv Prasad has won as a Sarpanch.
