A Sarpanch candidate’s husband has been abducted by Maoists !!

Maoists abducted Killo Nageswara Rao, husband of Killo Rajamma, candidate of Visakhapatnam agency Munchamgiputtu Mandal Boosiputta panchayat sarpanch, on Sunday night. The Maoists have called for a boycott of the by-elections. In the third phase of the panchayat elections, Rajamma has been nominated for the post of Sarpanch in the elections to be held for this panchayat tomorrow (Wednesday). In the wake of this, the Maoists came to D. Kantavaram village of Boosiputtu panchayat on Sunday night and abducted Nageswararao.

Nageswara Rao was severely beaten up by the Maoists and they have left him alive. It is learned that the Maoists have warned the tribals to boycott the panchayat elections. Tribals in the area are panicking to vote with a warning from the Maoists. Boosiputtu Sarpanch candidate Rajamma has so far worked as an Anganwadi activist in D.Kantaavaram. She recently resigned and entered the competition as a YSRCP fan.
