Chandrababu is the kind of politician he will always be in news either in the state or at the centre. He served 14 years as Chief Minister and has been in opposition for 10 years. He is one of the prominent politicians in the entire county and the war he waged on Naxals, Maoists, Red Sandalwood dealers made him face several Naxal attacks and it even led him to a severe fracture of his hand.
From that point, Chandrababu Naidu has been provided with Z+ category of security with National Security Guard (NSG) mobile cover. Many governments changed at centre and state but at every security review policy, he enjoyed Z+ security until Jagan’s government came into power.
Last year, Andhra Pradesh High Court had directed the state government to restore the security of Naidu with 97 police personnel after YSRCP’s government decided to reduce his cover.
Yet again, the intelligence informed Naidu through a letter that his security will be reduced to 58 when Naidu is about to begin his ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’. This made Naidu worried and when he appealed to DGP’s office about this security personnel reduction a letter came as a reply from them.
The IG wrote a letter to Naidu that no security was reduced for him and ensured CBN that he will get 183 security personnel as a part of Z+ category of security. But, TDP strongly condemns the politically motivated decision of the security review committee (SRC) and demands restoration of security to its original level as they don’t believe in the double standards of the YSRCP party.
Further, the YSRCP-led government stands responsible for any mishap to the above leaders due to the reduction in their cover. Naidu had escaped an assassination attempt by Maoists in Tirupati in 2003 when he was the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
