According to a study conducted by online visibility management and content marketing SaaS platform SEMrush, with the followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram put together, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has 110,912,648 million followers, thus occupying the second most followed politician in the world.
Ex President of US, Barack Obama, tops the list with 182,710,777 followers on all his three social media platforms. Surprisingly, the most talked about politician, US President Donald Trump only has 96 million followers globally. However, when only Twitter followers are taken into consideration, Trump stands in the second position globally.
“The popularity of our PM Narendra Modi is immense and the study finding depicting him as the 2nd most followed person globally after former US President Barack Obama is a culmination of this fact,” Fernando Angulo, Head of International Partnership, SEMrush, said in a statement.
On the other side, Congress party President Rahul Gandhi has accumulated 12 million followers from all the three social media handles- Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
SEMrush reported that Twitter serves as the nest of the maximum number of active political audiences, both domestic and global.
