Prior to 2014 elections, the internal circles of YSRCP have planned to make Prakasham district’s Donakonda as capital city of Andhra Pradesh. Several YSRCP leaders and those who were aware of this plan, have bought huge amounts of land even before the declaration of results, anticipating the high amounts after it was announced as capital city.
But much to the shock, the Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party lost the election in 2014 and those who bought lands in Donakonda had to remain red-faced. They found it tough to sell back the lands and couldn’t get the right prices.
But as the election prospects are very much in tune with YSRCP this time, the YSRCP leaders are back to get the advantage out of Donakonda. Reportedly, even the land rates have been tremendously increased in the past three weeks.
After bifurcation of Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced Amaravathi as the new capital city of AP and the TDP government also worked in developing it, in all the aspects. If at all TDP loses this time, it should be seen how the newly formed government would deal with Amaravati, where several investors and those who bought residential lands are reliant on it.
