In a recent media interaction when quizzed about male-domination in the Telugu movie space, Rakul Preet simply denied that patriarchy still exists.
” I would rather state that the whole world is male-dominated. Every industry is thriving hard to become less male-dominant. Change is inevitable and the movie industry has been changing”, Rakul said.
“I don’t think Telugu movies are all male-centric. You cannot generalize or draw conclusions. I’ve worked with people who strongly believe in equality”, Rakul Preet stated. Rakul takes Bhaahubali’s story as an example to state how some famous movies are all about women and their importance in society.
Rakul Preet also names a few actresses who have become more famous than many men from the movie industry. Rakul opines Telugu movie industry is evolving and becoming better.
On the work front, Rakul Preet Singh had played the role of Sridevi in NTR’s biopic which brought her decent feedback. Rakul Preet is to appear in a Tamil movie titled NGK.
NGK stars Suriya Siva Kumar as the male lead. Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi are the female leads in this movie. Being directed by Selvaraghavan, NGK is slated to hit the screens in May 2019.
Rakul’s other projects include a Bollywood movie titled De De Pyaar De which stars Ajay Devgan and Tabu in the lead roles.
