Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu made the country proud by winning gold in the women’s 49kg category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. As the iconic player bagged the prestigious medal, netizens took to social media platforms to laud the success of Chanu.
Interestingly, Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth, who is best known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, also appreciated the Indian legend but with a Thor twist.
While congratulating Chanu, a fan tagged Hemsworth on Twitter and wrote, “Time for Thor to give up his hammer.”
Reacting to this, the star actor wrote, “She is worthy! Congrats, Saikhom, you legend.”
For the unversed, the line was picked from his character in his movie in which Thor’s hammer, the Mjolnir, can only be picked up by those deemed “worthy”.
