The second wave of Coronavirus has indeed taken over the country like a storm, with lakhs of people being affected on a daily basis. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, said that he has asked the states to use lockdown as a last measure and to try and control the spread of the virus by identifying areas with a high number of Covid cases and announcing them as containment zones.
The city of Tirupati, in Andhra Pradesh, has now been announced as a containment zone, by Tirupati Municipal Corporation Commissioner PS Girisha on Monday. He said that they are following the PM’s advice, and asked the people also to be responsible for their actions and to be safe and make sure that they are always wearing a mask and using a sanitizer.
Girisha also said that all containment steps are being taken at the containment zones, and a meeting of representatives of business and commercial organizations, police officials, and public representatives, was organized at the municipal corporation to take the necessary steps to stop the spread of the virus in Tirupati, which is the first place that Lord Venkateswara’s devotees visit, on their way to visit the Lord in Tirumala.
