Four star players have withdrawn from the ongoing IPL 2021. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) players Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson have become the latest Australian players to pull out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for personal reasons. Their decision comes a day after another Australian cricketer Andrew Tye of Rajasthan Royals returned to his country citing personal reasons.
Besides the Australian players, senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who plays for Delhi Capitals, pulled out of this year’s edition till the Covid-19 situation in the country turns to normalcy.
Ashwin said in a tweet that he would take a break from this year’s IPL. “My family and extended family are putting up a fight against #COVID19, and I want to support them during these tough times. I expect to return to play if things go in the right direction. Thank you @DelhiCapitals,” he wrote.
So far, five players from the teams like Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore have pulled out after the tournament began.
