It is known that YSRCP leader and AP Transport Minister Perni Nani survived a murder attempt earlier in Machilipatnam. A man named Nageswara Rao attacked Nani with a masonry and the minister escaped the assassination attempt by a whisk. Nani who is stable now responded on the incident.
“A man fell on my feet near my home and I was unable to recognise the person. When I was getting enough attention of the man, he attacked with the masonry. I was in an attempt to escape the attack but the person was committed to the assassination and tried to stab me with the masonry. That is when my followers pulled him aside,” explained Nani.
Nani said that the person was arrested by the police and the still investigation is going on. The AP Minister further said that he has no idea why he was attacked by that person. The SP of Krishna district also commented in the incident. “A case was registered under ‘attempt to murder’ section and the preliminary investigation states that the Masonry worker attacked the minister as he has been jobless for some period of time.”
The Police were still investigating the case and the full details awaited.
