An unusual incident reported in Chhattisgarh where the Korba district police registered a case for stealing 800 kg of cow dung worth Rs 1,600.
This strange news came to light as the state government has been buying cow dung at Rs 2 per kg under its ambitious ‘Godhan Nyay Yojna’ scheme for the production of vermicompost at gauthans.
As per reports, in Dhurena village, a farmer collected 800 kg of cow dung. He turned it into nuts and piled it up. However, unidentified persons snatched the 800 kg of cow dung. The victim lodged a complaint at the Dipka police station on June 15.
An officer said 800 kg of cow dung worth Rs 1,600 was robbed from Dhurena village under Dipka police station limits. A formal complaint was lodged on June 15 by Kamhan Singh Kanwar, the head of village gauthan samiti.
