A serious road accident took place in the Visakhapatnam district. A tourist bus overturned at Damuku in the Ananthagiri zone and plunged into a valley near Araku Ghat road and 8 people were dead and around 25 were injured. About 45 people were reported to be on the buses at the time of the accident. The bus derailed at turn 5 at Damuku village and plunged into the valley.
Police, ITDA officials, and tribals are involved in the relief efforts. The injured were shifted to Ananthagiri and S. Kota Government Hospitals in ambulances. Among the passengers, 26 people on the bus were from a single-family in Sheikhpeta, Hyderabad. Locals say the accident happened as the bus driver was unaware of the ghat road.
