In a tragic incident, at least 11 people were killed and 38 others injured in a bus accident in Nashik of Maharashtra. This unfortunate incident happened early this morning when the luxury bus hit a trailer truck transporting diesel on Nasik-Aurangabad Highway.
As soon as the bus hit the trailer, the fire spread throughout the entire bus and passengers, who were sleeping, had no time to escape. As per the eyewitnesses, the accident took place at around 5.15 am.
In a statement, the Chief Minister’s office confirmed that 11 people had died in the mishap, while others, who were injured, are undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city. The government will bear the medical expenses of the wounded, the CMO said.
The government has also announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakhs each to the next of kin of those who died in this unfortunate incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced financial help of Rs 2 lakh each for the families who passed away in the accident.
