The Telangana State Government has given its consent to conduct of polls to elect Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad members, whose term likely to come an end soon.
Recently the State Election Commission has sent its proposals to the Government expressing its preparedness in conducting elections to Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad.
Central Election Commission had also given its nod to the proposal to conduct polls to these civic bodies, only after completion of Elections to the Lok Sabha.
In this backdrop, the Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao held discussions with the concerned officers at Pragathi Bhavan to discuss threadbare conduct of elections to Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad.
The State Government has proposed to the State Election Commission that the process to conduct polls for Zilla Parishad and Mandal Parishad elections can bet fixed any time between from April 22 to May 14.
But, the results should be announced only after the Lok Sabha election results
