YSRCP once again attacks Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar!

The YSRCP and State Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, have been at war with each other for several months now. It all started when Nimmagadda refused to hold elections in March, owing to the rapid spread of Coronavirus in the state.

Following that fallout, the YSRCP even tried to oust Nimmagadda from his post, but that did not come to pass, as Nimmagadda fought hard to make sure that his position was retained. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had even accused Nimmagadda for being biased towards the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu, as they both belong to the same caste.

Many other YSRCP leaders also passed scathing remarks against Nimmagadda, and the latest to join them is Water Resources Minister Anil Kumar Yadav. He called Babu the director, and Nimmagadda the actor, once again bringing to the forefront, the caste allegations that Jagan had made against Nimmagadda. He also said that Nimmagadda is staunchly following Chandrababu’s orders, and is accordingly conducting the local body elections.

All of these remarks, against the head of a Constitutional body, on a regular basis, is not something that any political party, especially the one in power, is supposed to indulge in. However, the YSRCP looks like it couldn’t care less about what the repercussions would be. On the other hand, the YSRCP has not even attended the meeting that Nimmagadda organised for all the political parties of the state, wherein the upcoming local body elections were discussed about.

Previously, Assembly Speaker Tamineni Sitaram called Nimmagadda a donkey (gadida), and YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy compared Nimmagadda to a dog on a golden throne. It is now to be seen if Nimmagadda will take legal actions against these remarks, which can be considered as defamatory remarks, or if he will let them pass, ignoring the YSRCP, considering it is futile to even expect sensible statements from them.
