The only rival that the YSR Congress Party knows since its formation is TDP. They can go to any extent to dismantle the TDP and its cadre completely and to wipe out its existence without any trace. The TDP vs YSRCP battle has been a never-ending phenomenon in AP politics.
In that order, when Chandra Babu was in the ruling, there are allegations that the YSR Congress leaders or supporters couldn’t get any contracts, tenders and at least they couldn’t get their hands on the lease contracts. So, the YSRCP cadre and leaders thought that they will show their dominance when AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy comes into rule but the contrary is happening.
In Kondapi constituency, works worth about Rs 10 crore were handed over to immigrant leaders who are followers of a former TDP MLA from Tangutur. YCP leaders are appalled by this. Party leaders who have carried the flag since the emergence of the YCP are outraged. Leaders are openly criticizing the endless corruption in the housing contract.
Not only that contract, as a part of Nadu-Nedu project, the government contract worth Rs.30 lakhs of Cement and Sand supply were acquired by the TDP leader who belongs to Binginapalli. The fact that the TDP leader himself is openly saying that he has also paid a commission of Rs 3 lakh for awarding the sand contract that really outraged the YCP supporters.
There are allegations that the YSRCP leaders are taking commissions like this and giving jobs to the leaders who migrated from the TDP for power. However, the YSRCP sources and the ruling party circles say that they have been impartial all along with their administration and are giving contracts according to their eligibility and capability irrespective of the background.
