YS Sharmila sits on hunger strike over Saidabad rape incident

YS Sharmila, president of the newly-founded YSR Telangana Party, has questioned why the KCR government is not responding to the incident of the rape and murder case of a 6-year-old girl from Singareni Colony in Saidabad.

To this extent, YS Sharmila on Wednesday visited the family members of the deceased 6-year-old girl in Saidabad. She went on a hunger strike at the victim’s house and said that she would continue her strike until CM KCR responds to this incident.

Sharmila demanded compensation of Rs 10 crore to the victim’s family. She was incensed that sexual assaults on women had increased during the KCR regime. “Isn’t this a failure of the police? Is it not the responsibility of the police to provide protection? the YSRTP leader asked. Sharmila demanded CM KCR’s immediate attention towards this tragic incident.
