To fight with the Coronavirus, every popular film personality in both the Telugu States are donating huge amounts to the CM Relief funds of both states. Nithin, Mahesh, Prabhas, Tarak, Trivikram e.t.c are on this list. Now, the YSRCP leaders especially the Members of Parliament also donated some amount to the CM & PM Relief funds but not from their own pockets.
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani announced that he will transfer the MP Lad amount under his parliamentary zone to the CM Relief Fund. ‘LAD’ stands for Local Area Development is a scheme that enables each MLA or MP to undertake small developmental works in his/her constituency through the allocated funds of Rs. 2 crores per year. Under this scheme, funds will be provided in the State’s Plan Budget every year.
Some MLAs announced that they will transfer their 1 month or 2 months’ salary to the Relief Fund and that can be considered as a donation but not the amount meant for the Local Area Development (LAD). Recently MP CM Ramesh also announced that he will give 2 crores of LAD money as a donation to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
