WhatsApp is launching a new, additional security feature for desktop users. If this feature becomes available then your WhatsApp will ask for a fingerprint or facial unlock before linking to the desktop.
Once unlocked, the scanner that accesses the desktop QR code will open. This will allow you to link your WhatsApp to your desktop only.
Along with this feature, WhatsApp says that a popup notification will come when you log in to the web version or desktop.
WhatsApp has made it clear that they cannot even access facial data, including users’ fingerprints.
The explanation comes in the wake of large-scale criticism that WhatsApp is facing over a change in privacy rules.
