The National Green Tribunal (NGT) outraged at the attitude of the AP government. The NGT has issued a warning to the Andhra Pradesh state government chief secretary that officials must go to jail if they disobey the orders of the NGT.
NGT outraged over the Rayalaseema upliftment project works being carried out by the AP govt and expressed dissatisfaction over the works. NGT has previously ruled that the state governments should not do works regarding the projects without environmental permits. However, NGT became very serious about the petition alleging that the AP govt is defying the orders of NGT. The Krishna River Management Board directed the AP govt to report on the recent developments in the project. The next hearing was adjourned to July 12.
