The AP Police Officers’ Association has reacted to the remarks made by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu against AP DGP Gautam Sawang. They made it clear that they condemned the remarks on the DGP.
Police commented that they could understand the situation of Chandrababu in the wake of his defeat in the panchayat elections. Representatives of the Police Officers’ Association said that the DGP and the police should not be intimidated into trying to provoke caste and regional sentiments and undermine their stability.
They were of the view that it was inappropriate for Chandrababu to make such remarks on DGP, who has been the CM for 14 years in his 40-year political career. The police officials’ association said in a statement to the media that they considered the allegations against the DGP as symbols of Chandrababu’s personality. They have warned Chandrababu that they will approach the court if he makes such remarks again.
