The Deccan Chronicle management-led decades-old Telugu daily, Andhrabhumi has been completely shut down. Following this, the Andhrabhumi employees have appealed to Justice Chandraya, the chairperson of the State Human Rights Commission of Telangana, seeking justice.
Recently, the Andhrabhumi daily employees filed a petition with the Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) in the HRC against the Andhrabhumi management.
Since lockdown, they have stopped printing the newspapers but the employees are of the hope that the company would be status quo. Recently, the management had made it clear that they can’t even pay their dues and asked the employees to leave the firm.
In addition, the employees of Andhrabhumi are receiving notices from the IT department that the DC management has not remitted the income tax deducted from their salaries.
