Yesteryear popular actress cum director Vijaya Nirmala has passed away at her 74, in the late hours of last night in Hyderabad’s Continental hospitals while undergoing the treatment. The entire film industry is mourning her death news.
Vijaya Nirmala is the first lady director to direct 44 films in Telugu, for which she was also presented Guinness Book of records. She was also identified for her acting skills and was honoured with Raghupati Venkaiah Award in 2008.

Senior actor Naresh is the son of Vijaya Nirmala-Krishna Murthy. She later fell in love with Super Star Krishna and married him in 1969.
Introduced with Panduranga Mahatyam, she was later part of the several popular Telugu films like Bhookailas, Manchi Kutumbam, Rangula Ratnam, Pandanti Kapuram, Devudu Chesina Manushulu, Alluri Seeta Rama Raju etc. Apart from Telugu, Vijaya Nirmala was also seen in 20 Malayalam films and 17 Tamil films too.
