Right after the news was announced that yesteryear popular heroine Vijayashanthi is going to be part of Sarileru Neekevvaru, there were several rumors on the social media, about the role she is playing in the film.
While a few say that she is going to play a negative role in the film, there were also rumors, that she will be seen in a negative role. But slashing all such rumors, Vijayshanthi has come forward to open up about her role.

The lady super star said that she will neither be seen as a mother nor in any negative role in Sarileru Neekevvaru. “I will be seen in a substantial role and my role is not related to Mahesh Babu in the film”, she announced.
Vijayashanthi was last seen in Nayudamma in 2006 and she later called off films, to become active in the politics. She started her political career with BJP in 1998 and also launched her own political party called Thalli Telangana later. But due to lack of support from any of the leaders, she had to merge it with the TRS. The actress turned politician also won as an MP from TRS in the 2009 elections and also served Congress later. She has been inactive for the last few years.
