Tamil film industry’s superstar, Rajinikanth, recently faced backlash from fans of Thalapathy Vijay due to his remarks about Vijay’s film “Beast” and its director, Nelson Dilipkumar. During the audio launch of his upcoming film “Jailer,” Rajinikanth revealed that distributors urged him to replace Nelson after “Beast” received negative reviews.
However, Rajinikanth clarified that despite the poor reviews, “Beast” was not a financial failure for its distributors. Vijay’s fans are unhappy with Rajinikanth’s open acknowledgement of “Beast’s” negative reception, as they believe he should have mentioned his own film, “Annatthe,” which performed worse than “Beast” revenue wise.
The tension between the fans of the two stars escalated, with Vijay’s supporters expressing their displeasure at Rajinikanth’s comments.
“Jailer” is an action thriller starring Rajinikanth, set for a grand worldwide release on August 10th. During the event, Rajinikanth’s statement about “Beast” and Nelson Dilip Kumar sparked controversy and fueled the ongoing disagreement between the two fan bases.
