The state of Telangana is witnessing a rise in the number of conjunctivitis(Pink Eye) cases, with the combined districts of Warangal reporting huge numbers. Doctors and experts are saying that this could be because of the incessant rainfall that the state has experienced in the last several days.
They are saying that the infection is a result of bacteria present in the air, and because of the rains and high humidity levels, the infection has increased in the population. Given that it’s an airborne infection, and can be easily transferred from one person to the other, it is rising rapidly.
Some of the best precautions for this infection are to wash your eyes with water at regular intervals of time, as it helps reduce the infection levels, to stay away from someone who is showing symptoms of having the infection, and to wear glasses at all times, if one has the infection so that it doesn’t spread to others.a
