Exclusive: VFX budget for Prabhas starrer Adipurush to outdo Bahubali’s records!

Prabhas starrer magnum opus `Adipurush’ directed by Om Raut gained much traction when the first look was released on Monday. Adipurush will be Prabhas’s third collaboration with Bhushan Kumar after Saaho and Radhe Shyam and his first film with the director Om Raut, who directed Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

The characters of this epic drama and the crew involved has not been disclosed yet. Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali khan starrer Tanhaji directed by OM Raut was a 3D film with historical backdrop that fared well at the box office and undisputedly we can say Prabhas’s Adipurush like Bahubali would also be a visual treat for the movigoers.

Now Insiders reveal that an enormous budget is being shelled out for the pan India venture. The film is predominantly based on VFX with lavish sets emulating the historic scenic backdrop. It’s heard that the film is produced at a whopping 500 cr budget, out of which 50 % would be utilized for visual effects alone.

It is obvious that atleast 250 crore dedicated for the CGI part could outdo the Bahubali records, where a visual effect budget utilized for complete Bahubali franchise is reportedly 200 crores. Adipurush could in fact be the most expensive Indian film ever produced with such gigantic VFX budget.

The project is presently in the pre-production stage that is scheduled to go on floors in 2021 and hit the theatres worldwide in 2022. The statement added that makers are in talks to approach leading actors from Bollywood to play key roles.
