Veteran actress Saira Banu, who was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital three days ago due to blood pressure related issues, has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) ward on Wednesday.
“Saira Banu is admitted to the hospital due to low blood pressure. She was brought to the hospital three days ago. She is fine and much better now. There’s nothing to worry about,” a hospital official said, adding that he had talked to the 77-year-old actress on Tuesday.
He also added that the hospital is not a Covid facility and the veteran actress had tested negative for Covid-19. But she was isolated as a measure in the wake of the deadly pandemic.
Saira Banu’s husband and actor Dilip Kumar died at 98 in Mumbai in July this year. He was also admitted to the same hospital after he complained of breathlessness.
Saira Banu made her Bollywood debut with the film Junglee in 1961, opposite late actor Shammi Kapoor. She is known for films like Diwani (1967), Padosan (1968), Purab Aur Paschim (1970) and Hera Pheri (1976).
