In an extremely shameful act, some of the Indian students, who are living in the USA, are booked for involving in chargeback fraud.
As per reports, this fraud came to light in Kansas City when B&B Theatres started an investigation into the alleged chargeback fraud on Indian Movies. In a big shock to the management, they found $250,000 was filed for Chargeback in 2022.
For the unversed, Chargeback fraud is when an individual intentionally denies a legitimate payment transaction through the issuing bank or payment processor, resulting in a chargeback. The user complained to the bank, reporting that his credit card was lost/stolen/compromised and seeks to get a refund on his previous transactions.
After their preliminary investigation, B&B Theatres approached KCPD (Kansas City Police department) and employed a detective agency to investigate this fraud. It is reported that most of these transactions are made by fresh graduates living in consultancies in Kansas city and other places.
