Leading news agency PTI has published the news that the central government has asked the two manufacturers of the Covid vaccine to reduce the prices of the vaccines in India.
It is known that the vaccine will be available to all those above 18 years of age from May 1. There has also been strong criticism of vaccine companies announcing different prices for the Union government and the state governments.
Many political parties are demanding that the price should be the same throughout the country. In this background, the Union govt has asked the companies to reduce the prices.
Recently, Arvind Kejriwal said that it was not time to make a profit and urged the vaccine makers to reduce the prices immediately. He also appealed to the Union govt to intervene and impose a limit on the prices of vaccines.
