Taliban anarchy has begun in Afghanistan. The insurgents are already cracking down on women who are fighting for their freedom.
In a disturbing incident, two journalists from the Kabul-based media outlet Etilaat-e Roz, were brutally beaten by Taliban security forces for covering protests by women demanding an end to Taliban violations of the rights of women and girls.
Etilaat-e Roz reported that Taliban officials took the two men to a police station in Kabul, put them in separate cells, and harshly beat them with cables.
In the images, we can see two men stripped to their innerwear and standing with their backs to the camera. Their backs and legs are covered with red welts and bruises.
These photos are currently going viral on social media. Representatives of some foreign media outlets have shared these concerns about human rights in the Taliban regime. The Taliban have recently arrested a videographer covering a women’s protest and shot him in the nose.
Meanwhile, large-scale protests against the Taliban are taking place across the capital, Kabul. The Taliban’s intelligence service has suspended Internet services in several parts of Kabul. Moreover, the protesters were ordered to take permission for protests 24 hours in advance.
