The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam trust has released the budget for the year 2021-22, after a meeting headed by trust head YV Subba Reddy, on Saturday. The TTD has approved a budget of Rs 2,937 crores, which is 10% higher than the budget that was released for the year 2020-2021.
For the year 2020-21, the TTD has estimated nearly Rs. 1,131 Crores as the income from the Hundi, and is also reportedly expecting Rs. 100 as the monetisation fund for unviable properties and vacant cottages under cottage donation schemes. The income from Prasadams is estimated to be at Rs. 375 Crores, while the income from interest receipts is estimated to be at Rs. 533 Crores, the income from the darsanam tickets is estimated to be Rs. 210 Crores and the income from Kalyanakatta is estimated to be Rs. 131 Crores.
The TTD is also planning to construct either a temple of Lord Venkateswara of a Bhajana Mandiram or an Amenities Complex in Ayodhya if the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Nirman Trust comes forward to allot lant to the TTD. The Bhumi poojas will very soon be performed for the construction of Srivari temples in Mumbai and Jammu. The TTD plans to recommend to the Center, to declare the holy cow as the national animal.
Apart from deciding to provide Covid vaccination for all employees, the TTD has also decided to resume Arjitha Sevas in the temple, from April 14th. Devotees with advance booking for arjita sevas and those who test negative for Coronavirus three days prior to the seva will be allowed in the temple during the seva and will be made to follow strict coronavirus guidelines.
The Veda pathasalas run by the TTD will be knowns as Sri Venkateswara Veda Vignana Peetham from now on, and the Vedic teachers at all these pathasalas will be paid Rs. 35,150 from now on. The ghee used to prepare Srivari Prasadam and Anna Prasadam is expected to be increased as well.
