Two days ago, Andhra Pradesh Minister Perni Nani made a statement saying that the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should be merged to form a united Andhra Pradesh, making it a united state like how it was, until 2014, before the bifurcation of the state.
Nani said that Jagan was open for this prospect and that they were ready to pass a resolution to this effect in the AP Legislative Assembly if the Telangana government was ready to do the same in their assembly. He once again reiterated this statement today, but the TRS has been silent throughout.
The TRS’s silence has become an opportunity for the opposition parties in the state, like the BJP, who are lashing out at the TRS, asking how the Telangana government can stay silent on the AP minister’s statements, after having fought so hard for the separate state of Telangana. It is now to be seen if the Telangana government will ultimately respond to this statement or not.
