TRS protests for Telangana, but YSRCP protests against Amaravati

The Indian Parliamentary sessions for the Monsoon season have begun this week, and every party is fighting for its own agenda and state in the parliament. Despite the ruling parties of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana sharing a very amiable bond, both of these parties are now fighting for totally different reasons in the parliament.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi is protesting against the fact that the Central Government is not paying the dues it is supposed to pay to the states of the country. TRS MPs participated in a protest for this cause in front of the Gandhi Statue in the premises of the parliament, along with the MPs of 9 parties of other states.

On the other hand, the MPs of the YSRCP also participated in a protest, but for a totally different reason. The YSRCP MPs demanded a CBI enquiry into the land scams that took place in Amaravati. The way the YSRCP was dealing with the issue is said to have shocked the members of other parties.

Many politicians are questioning the reason for the YSRCP to act out on such a large scale with respect to a CBI enquiry, given that the Center would grant it if the state so much as sent an official letter, requesting for the same. It is also being said that there’s no necessity for the YSRCP to waste their time on such a simple issue, by protesting in the parliament, when they could have invested their time for better issues.

While the TRS is fighting for the betterment of states, the fact that the YSRCP is fighting for a CBI enquiry is rather shocking and blasphemous. The YSRCP is drawing a lot of criticism for prioritising a CBI enquiry over the matters and betterment of its own state. Perhaps, it is time for the YSRCP to learn a little from TRS, or that’s what those who have witnessed the YSRCP protest in the parliament feel!
